I Love Techno Europe is an international electronic and techno music festival that settled in Montpellier in 2018, after having been one of the biggest electronic music events in Belgium for over twenty years. In Montpellier, the event takes over several iconic venues in the metropolis: the Parc des Expositions, the Opéra Comédie, and the Halle Tropisme, making the city one of the major destinations on the European techno scene.

A benchmark lineup on the techno scene

Throughout its Montpellier editions, the festival has hosted the biggest international figures in electronic music — Jeff Mills, Paul Kalkbrenner, Laurent Garnier, Charlotte de Witte, among many others — across several stages and over several days. The festival's formula blends techno nights at the Parc Expo, concerts at the Opéra Comédie, and more experimental offerings at the Halle Tropisme, in a dynamic that goes beyond a simple club format to offer a true cultural experience.

An event on hiatus

I Love Techno Europe has announced that it will not organize any editions in 2025 or 2026. In a statement published on its official website, the organization explains that «the necessary conditions to offer an edition of the required standard» are no longer met and that it is time to rethink the festival. The last documented edition took place from March 29 to 31, 2024, at the Parc Expo in Montpellier. The organization announces a planned return in March 2027, with exact dates to be communicated later.

An event rooted in the Montpellier region

The Hérault department, bathed by the Mediterranean, has, over the editions, become a natural host for this event, which has become a reference in Occitanie. The Montpellier metropolis actively supports the event, which contributes to the cultural vitality and tourist appeal of the region.
