The biggest flea market in Berry
Every first Sunday of September, the town of Issoudun in the Indre region transforms into a huge open-air flea market. The Fair of Everything and Curiosity, created in 1974, brings together nearly 400 exhibitors and attracts thousands of bargain hunters from all over France. Over several kilometers of streets, antique dealers, second-hand dealers, and individuals offer an incredible range of items: vinyl records, comic books, clothing, furniture, tableware, jewelry, old books, and curiosities of all kinds. Admission is free from 9 am to 7 pm.
Created in 1974 by a group of enthusiasts, the Issoudun Fair of Everything and Curiosity has become over the decades one of the most popular events in the Indre department. This annual gathering on the first Sunday of September attracts thousands of bargain hunters, collectors, and the curious each year to browse the aisles of this immense open-air flea market.
The fair extends over several streets of the town, particularly around Rue Georges Brassens and dedicated spaces. Nearly 400 exhibitors — professional second-hand dealers, antique dealers, and individuals — present an extraordinary range of items: antique furniture, tableware, jewelry, vinyl records, comic books, vintage clothing, second-hand books, tools, trinkets, and genuine curiosities. Each stall holds its share of surprises and unexpected finds.
The atmosphere of the Fair of Everything is that of a large popular festival. Visitors stroll between the stalls, negotiate with exhibitors, and share their passion for bargain hunting and objects from yesteryear. Food stalls are available throughout the day in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. The event is entirely free, open from 9 am to 7 pm, making it an accessible outing for all audiences.
Over its fifty years of existence, the Fair of Everything and Curiosity has built a solid reputation far beyond the borders of Berry. It is now listed among the major flea markets in France and is a highlight of the back-to-school season in Issoudun. The Organizing Committee of the Issoudun Fair of Everything and Curiosity (COFTCI), a non-profit association (law 1901), organizes this event each year with the support of numerous volunteers.
The fair is also an opportunity to discover Issoudun, a city of art and history, with its 12th-century White Tower, its Saint-Roch Hospice Museum, and its rich architectural heritage. The city offers an ideal setting for this event that celebrates objects from the past and curiosity in all its forms.
The 51st edition of the Issoudun Fair of Everything and Curiosity will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026. Nearly 400 exhibitors will take over the town's streets for this major annual flea market in Berry.
