Jazz festival in the village of Lavergne in Creuse
Jazz et Culs Noirs is a festival that cultivates originality by bringing together two passions: jazz and the Limousin Cul Noir pig, a heritage pig breed recognizable by its characteristic black coat. The festival takes place in Lavergne, a small village in the Creuse region that comes alive for a weekend with jazz concerts and gastronomic tastings. This unusual alliance between culture and terroir is the uniqueness and charm of the event.
The festival's musical program highlights jazz in all its forms: traditional jazz, swing, gypsy jazz, contemporary jazz, and blues. The concerts take place outdoors or in village venues, creating an intimate and warm atmosphere, far from large concert halls. The musicians, often talented regional and national artists, appreciate this authentic setting and the proximity to the audience.
The gastronomic aspect of the festival celebrates the Limousin Cul Noir, a rustic pig breed raised outdoors in the meadows of Creuse. Visitors can taste charcuterie specialties, grillades, and traditional dishes prepared from this exceptional meat. Local producers complete the offering with cheeses, wines, and other local products. This marriage of jazz and gastronomy creates a unique festive and convivial atmosphere.
Jazz et Culs Noirs is expected in early August 2026 in the village of Lavergne. The festival will offer a new program of jazz concerts accompanied by gastronomic tastings featuring Cul Noir du Limousin pork.
The detailed program will be announced during the summer of 2026.
