Classical and chamber music festival in the land of tapestry
Created in 1988 by composer André Jorrand, a native of Aubusson, the Musique au Cœur de la Tapisserie festival has become an unmissable summer event in the cultural life of Creuse. Its honorary president, the famous Belgian bass-baritone José van Dam, testifies to the artistic reach of this event which makes great music resonate in the capital of tapestry.
The festival takes place in the churches and heritage sites of Aubusson and its surroundings: the Église Sainte-Croix in Aubusson, the Église de Moutier-Rozeille, and other remarkable buildings in Felletin and the Aubusson region. These exceptional architectural settings offer ideal acoustics for concerts of baroque music, romantic music, organ music, and chamber music.
Organized by the Association des Amis de l'Orgue d'Aubusson, the festival offers a program that combines artistic excellence and accessibility. While classical music and organ music are at the heart of the festival, jazz also has its place in the program, offering music lovers a rich and varied musical panorama throughout the summer concerts.
The 38th edition of Musique au Cœur de la Tapisserie will be held during the summer of 2026. The festival will offer a program of baroque music, romantic music, organ music, chamber music, and jazz in the churches and heritage sites of Aubusson, Moutier-Rozeille, and Felletin.
