The first urban trail in Creuse
Created in 2024, the Trail de la Vallée des Lissiers is the first and only urban trail in the Creuse department. This original 10 km route follows the streets and alleys of Aubusson, with steep inclines characteristic of this medieval city built on the slopes of the Creuse valley. Participants discover or rediscover the architectural heritage of the city throughout their race.
Run through the history of tapestry
The route crosses the emblematic sites of Aubusson linked to its tapestry history: the Chapitre, the Tour de l'Horloge, the old manufactories, and the historic districts of the lissiers (weavers), those artisans who have been weaving the famous Aubusson tapestry since the 15th century. It is a unique way to discover this city, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
An eco-responsible and local event
The Trail de la Vallée des Lissiers stands out for its eco-responsible commitment: refreshments are made up of local products and waste is reduced thanks to the use of reusable cups. The objective is twofold: to highlight the heritage of Aubusson and to promote environmentally friendly sports practice.
Trail des Lissiers — edition 2026
The third edition of the Trail de la Vallée des Lissiers will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Aubusson. The first and only urban trail in Creuse offers two routes in 2026, a 10 km (start 9:30 AM) and a new 6 km (start 9:45 AM), through the streets and alleys of the medieval city, discovering the UNESCO-listed tapestry heritage.
Two routes in 2026: 10 km and 6 km
For its third edition, on Sunday, September 20, 2026, the Trail de la Vallée des Lissiers is enhanced with a second route. Alongside the historic 10 km (start at 9:30 AM), runners can now embark on a 6 km (start at 9:45 AM). Both routes primarily take place in the streets and alleys of Aubusson, with significant elevation changes characteristic of this city built on the slopes of the Creuse valley, and offer beautiful views of the town.
Running in the heart of the tapestry weavers' city
The route passes through emblematic places linked to Aubusson's tapestry history — le Chapitre, la Tour de l'Horloge, the old manufactures, and the historic weavers' quarters. The eco-responsible commitment is maintained, with refreshments featuring local products and reusable cups.

Both races take place in Aubusson city center and its slopes. Online registration via the Le-Sportif.com platform.
