The children's race, ranging from 1 to 3 km, kicks off the day at 9:15 AM. Both adult races are open to licensed and non-licensed runners aged 16 and over; the children's race is for ages 10-15. The start and finish lines are both located at the Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle.
A revised course for this year
Organizers have announced a modified route compared to previous years. The course consists primarily of roads, with some stairs and short trail sections, passing through the Cité internationale de la tapisserie, the historic La Terrade district, the Clock Tower, and the ruins of the old Chapter. The race rules warn that the course is "demanding" and "punishing" despite the shorter distance, and that a minimum level of training is required. Poles are prohibited, and pets are not allowed.
The Crédit Agricole Challenge
The 13 km race includes a timed Strava segment. It begins on the rue du Marchedieu at the 8 km mark, featuring an ascent of approximately 400m, marked by flags at the start and finish. Any 13 km participant can compete by recording their activity on Strava before the results are announced around 12:00 PM. The fastest male and female runners will be rewarded.

The only urban trail in Creuse
Established in 2024, the Trail de la Vallée des Lissiers is the only urban trail in the Creuse department. It is an off-road running event where the course consists primarily of roads, with staircases and a few trail sections. The town is built on the slopes of the Creuse valley: the race regulations describe a "demanding" and "punishing" route despite the short distance, requiring participants to have a minimum level of fitness. The 2025 edition brought together nearly 180 runners.
Running through the city of tapestry
The route passes by the Cité internationale de la tapisserie, the historic La Terrade district, the Clock Tower, and the ruins of the former Chapitre, before winding through medieval alleys, staircases, and viewpoints overlooking the valley. Aubusson owes its fame to its tapestry, a craft recognized as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Eco-friendly organization
The event follows the Creuse guide for eco-friendly outdoor sports events, developed by the Creuse Departmental Council and adopted under the CDESI framework. The organizers limit printing, prioritize local products and short supply chains—including for race goodies—reduce waste by using bulk items, and encourage carpooling. The Entente Athlétique Aubusson also emphasizes supporting local businesses.
