Le Monde Paysan, cinema serving agriculture

Since 2007, the Le Monde Paysan festival has invited audiences to discover the agricultural world through the 7th art. Located in Saint-Marc-a-Loubaud, a small village in the south of Creuse, the festival screens fiction films and documentaries every summer that explore the challenges, joys, and difficulties of peasant life.

A rich program of screenings and debates

Over three days, the festival offers indoor and outdoor screenings, followed by debates with directors and figures from the agricultural world. The 2025 edition notably featured Louise Violet with Alexandra Lamy, Vingt Dieux (two Cesar awards), and the docu-fiction La Chanson de Jerome. Wine tastings, a concert, and other activities complete the program.

A festival rooted in the rural territory

Le Monde Paysan takes place in the village hall of Saint-Marc-a-Loubaud, in the heart of a deeply rural area. The festival gives a voice to farmers, directors, and the public for authentic exchanges on agricultural crises, the connection to the land, and the future of the peasant world.
