Created in 2001 by the lake of Sanguinet, Jazz in Sanguinet is a music festival that mixes jazz, blues, gospel, rock, and soul in a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere. For three days in July, the lakeside resort in the Landes region hosts renowned artists and young talents on an outdoor stage facing the lake. With free evenings on Thursdays and Fridays and a participatory ticketing system on Saturdays, the festival celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2025, confirming its place as a must-attend musical event in the northern Landes.

Jazz in Sanguinet: Jazz with your feet in the water

Since 2001, Jazz in Sanguinet has offered three days of music each summer by the lake of Sanguinet, in an exceptional natural setting between pine forests and bodies of water. This human-scale festival has found a perfect balance between artistic quality, accessibility, and conviviality, becoming a must-attend musical event in the northern Landes.

An eclectic and generous program

While jazz remains at the heart of the festival's identity, the program opens widely to other styles:

  • Jazz in all its forms: swing, bebop, gypsy jazz, jazz fusion, contemporary jazz
  • Blues and soul: a tribute to the roots of African-American music
  • Gospel and vocal music
  • Rock and pop: opening up to contemporary music
  • World music: afrobeat, Latin jazz, world music

Three days of musical celebration

The festival unfolds over three days with an original format:

  • Thursday and Friday: free evenings to open the festival to the widest audience
  • Saturday: closing evening with participatory ticketing (pay what you can/want)
  • Jazz Showcase: preceding the festival, a showcase dedicated to young talents for Fête de la Musique

Access

By car: Sanguinet is located between the Bassin d'Arcachon and Biscarrosse, about 60 km south of Bordeaux. The festival site is by the lake.

By train: Facture-Biganos or Bordeaux station, then car or carpooling to Sanguinet.
