About Jazz on the Park
Music Immersion in the Haut-Jura
Since 2009, Jazz on the Park has offered a unique musical experience in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park. More than just a festival, it's a true immersive music workshop in the Jura nature, where musicians of all levels come to perfect their skills in jazz, funk, blues, and improvised music.
A Comprehensive Educational Program
The workshop welcomes musicians wishing to develop and improve their knowledge by interacting with other musicians and singers, guided by a team of professional musicians. The program includes:
- Individual instrument lessons: bass, drums, vocals, double bass, guitar, piano, saxophone, trombone, and trumpet.
- Ensemble classes: collective practice in small groups to work on playing in a band.
- Thematic workshops: harmonies, jazz singing and scat, improvisation, rhythm, and specific techniques.
- Jam sessions: daily free sessions to put the day's learning into practice.
Concerts Open to the Public
Each evening, open-air concerts are organized, featuring performances by the professional instructors and the participants' work. These festive events are open to the public and take place in a friendly atmosphere, accompanied by Comté cheese and Savagnin wine tastings from the Jura region.
An Exceptional Natural Setting
Chaux-des-Crotenay is a small village nestled in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, surrounded by spruce forests, pastures, and lakes. The exceptional natural setting, between mountains and forests, fully contributes to the musical experience offered by Jazz on the Park. Participants also enjoy local gastronomy: cheeses (Comté, Morbier), Jura wines, and regional specialties.
A Spirit of Sharing and Camaraderie
Jazz on the Park is distinguished by its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The festival-workshop fosters encounters between musicians from all backgrounds and levels, in a spirit of sharing and exchange. Evenings combine jam sessions, concerts, and moments of conviviality around music and Jura gastronomy.

Jazz on the Park 2026 — July 4th to 11th session
Jazz on the Park returns from Saturday, July 4th to Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at Gîte Cyclamen, in Chaux-des-Crotenay, in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park. This first summer session is aimed at intermediate level musicians wishing to perfect their practice of jazz, funk, blues, swing, Latin, and improvised music, supervised by a team of professional musicians.
The organizer offers three distinct sessions in 2026: July 4th to 11th (intermediate level), July 25th to August 1st (intermediate and advanced level), and August 2nd to 9th (advanced level). This page presents the first July session.
Programme Jazz on the Park 2026
A typical day of the workshop
- 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM — Instrument practice (bass, drums, vocals, double bass, guitar, piano, saxophone, trombone, trumpet): technique, sound, rhythmic phrasing, and harmony concepts.
- 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM — Ensemble class (groups G1 and G2): working on themes, harmonic navigation, and repertoire preparation for the end-of-week concert.
- 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM — Thematic workshops: free and guided improvisation, rhythmic cells, sound painting, beat box, history of jazz, harmony, jazz singing, arrangement, and ear training.
- 8:30 PM – 11:30 PM — Daily, open, and friendly jam session.
The last day is dedicated to general rehearsals followed by the interns' restitution concert, followed by a teachers' concert, open to the public in the natural setting of the Haut-Jura.

Location
Jazz on the Park takes place in Chaux-des-Crotenay, in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Natural Park, in the Jura department (39).
Dates
The workshop takes place every year in July, for a full week (usually the first or second week). 2026 Session: July 4th to 11th (intermediate level).
Prices
Several packages available:
- Full board: accommodation and meals included.
- Half board: accommodation and breakfast.
- Workshop only: classes and workshops only.
Evening concerts are open to the public (inquire about prices).
