A new festival born from the success of Japan Tours
The Korean Tours Festival was born in 2025 from the growing enthusiasm for Korean culture in France, driven by the teams of the Japan Tours Festival. From its very first edition in February 2025, the event welcomed 11,000 visitors at the Palais des Congrès de Tours, confirming the public's appetite for K-pop, K-dramas, webtoons, and Korean gastronomy.
A complete panorama of Korean culture
The festival covers all facets of contemporary and traditional South Korean culture. K-pop is at the heart of the event with concerts, showcases, and the first K-pop dance contest in the Centre-Val de Loire region. The universes of K-drama, webtoon, Korean cinema, and gaming are also represented through screenings, conferences, and dedicated areas.
Prestigious guests
Nearly a hundred prestigious guests participate in the festival to share their passion and expertise. The 2026 edition notably welcomes the French K-pop group Starseed'z for a showcase on Friday, K-drama actor Ha Jun on Saturday, and K-pop singer Kisu on Sunday. About forty artisans from South Korea present traditional Korean crafts, accompanied by interpreters.
Gastronomy, K-beauty, and traditions
The gastronomic area offers an immersion into Korean cuisine: bibimbap, tteokbokki, kimchi, Korean street food, and pastries. The world of K-beauty is represented with skincare workshops, demonstrations of Korean cosmetic techniques, and product stands. Cultural workshops allow participants to learn Korean calligraphy, how to make hanbok (traditional costume), and traditional arts.
Cosplay and contests
The cosplay contest, organized by the association Cos'Castle, is a highlight of the weekend. Participants present their costumes inspired by Korean pop culture: characters from K-dramas, webtoons, Korean anime, and video games. The amateur K-pop dance contest brings together groups from all over France in the François Ier auditorium of the Palais des Congrès.
