A Retro Escape in the Vineyards of the Côte des Blancs

La Bullecyclette is a unique wine tourism experience, created in 2024, offering a vintage bicycle ride through the vineyards of the Côte des Blancs. Starting from Avize, participants cover 22 kilometers on vintage bikes (models prior to 1980) crossing the most beautiful wine villages of Champagne.

Four Gourmet and Musical Stops

The route is punctuated by four stops where cyclists are welcomed with swing music and champagne tastings. Throughout the day, participants enjoy an aperitif, a main course, a dessert, a snack, and 4 glasses of champagne, all in a festive and retro atmosphere.

The 1950s Spirit

One of La Bullecyclette's charms lies in its retro dress code. Participants are invited to dress up in the spirit of the 1950s-60s: polka dot dresses, berets, checkered shirts, suspenders... This vintage touch gives the event a unique atmosphere, blending nostalgia and conviviality.

The Villages of the Côte des Blancs

The route passes through emblematic villages of the Champagne vineyards:

  • Avize : Starting and finishing point, Grand Cru renowned for its Blancs de Blancs
  • Oger : Grand Cru wine village
  • Le Mesnil-sur-Oger : One of the most prestigious Chardonnay terroirs
  • Vertus : Premier Cru at the gateway to the Marais de Saint-Gond

The Final Guinguette

The day ends with a large Guinguette open to all, even those who didn't cycle. Retro concerts, artisanal food, local drinks, and creator stands extend the party into the night. An inclusive moment of sharing that brings together cyclists and locals.

Eco-responsibility and Inclusion

La Bullecyclette is an event committed to an eco-responsible and inclusive approach. The choice of cycling as a mode of transport, the promotion of short supply chains and local products, as well as the welcome for people with disabilities, reflect the values upheld by the organizing team, composed of five passionate young people and about forty volunteers.
