Born in 2022, La Roue Cool is an entirely free and solidarity music festival that takes place every spring in La Gaubretière, Vendée. For nearly three weeks, over sixty concerts are offered under a huge circus tent, at the foot of a 45-meter-high Ferris wheel. All profits are donated to a different charity each year. In 2024, the event brought together 80,000 festival-goers.

La Roue Cool: A Free and Solidarity Music Marathon
Created in 2022 by Philippe Maindron and Maindron Production, La Roue Cool is a unique event in the French festival landscape. For nearly three weeks each spring, this 100% free festival takes over the Horizon business park in La Gaubretière, about ten kilometers from Les Herbiers, to offer the public a true musical marathon of over sixty concerts.
A Ferris Wheel as a Symbol
The festival's emblem is its 45-meter-high Ferris wheel, visible for miles around. From the top of this spectacular attraction, visitors enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the Vendée bocage. The Rest'haut, a restaurant perched in the gondolas of the Ferris wheel, even allows you to dine at a height of 40 meters, a unique experience in France inaugurated during the 2024 edition.
An Eclectic and Generous Program
Under a huge 2,400 m² circus tent, free concerts take place every evening from Wednesday to Sunday. The program mixes rock, French chanson, reggae, hip-hop, electronic music, and variety. Among the artists who have graced the La Roue Cool stage are Cali, Soldat Louis, Fatal Bazooka, Jean-Baptiste Guégan, Téo Lavabo, Hornet La Frappe, and Les Fatals Picards. Special days are also organized for children and residents of nursing homes.
Exemplary Solidarity Commitment
The unique feature of La Roue Cool is its solidarity mission: all profits are donated to a charity. In 2024, over 60,000 euros were collected for the association Agir Contre la Maladie. The 2025 edition supported Toit à Moi, a Nantes-based association helping the homeless. This economic model relies entirely on on-site consumption (food and drink), with no entrance fee.
Spectacular Success
Since its first edition in 2022 in Châtelliers-Châteaumur, which attracted 20,000 visitors, the festival has continued to grow: 40,000 festival-goers in 2023, then 80,000 in 2024 with over 200 artists programmed. La Roue Cool has established itself as one of the unmissable spring events in Vendée.

The 5th edition of La Roue Cool returns to La Gaubretière from April 29 to May 17, 2026, for a new 19-day musical marathon featuring 60 free concerts at the foot of the Ferris wheel.

La Roue Cool returns for its 5th edition from April 29 to May 17, 2026, in La Gaubretière. The festival promises a new musical marathon with 60 free concerts under the giant tent, special days for children and nursing home residents, as well as the Rest'haut perched in the Ferris wheel. The full program will be unveiled in the spring of 2026.

Access
By car: La Gaubretière is located 10 km from Les Herbiers and 30 km from Montaigu-Vendée. The festival takes place at ZAE de l'Horizon, 12 rue de l'Avenir, 85130 La Gaubretière. A free parking lot with 1,000 spaces is available.
From Nantes: Approximately 1 hour by car via the A83 then the D753.
Prices
Concerts: 100% free entry, no reservation required.
Ferris wheel: Adults €8, children (up to 13 years old) €5.
Bumper cars: 1 ticket €4, 3 tickets €10, 7 tickets €20.
Hours
The site opens in the late afternoon on concert evenings (Wednesday to Sunday). Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Detailed hours on the official website.
Food & Drink
Bar and catering on site. The Rest'haut offers a gastronomic experience in the Ferris wheel gondolas (reservation required).
