About Lalbenque Book Festival
In Lalbenque, in the Lot department, the association "Le livre, une aventure" brings together around twenty local and regional authors each year for a fair dedicated to writing, meetings, and book signings. The event was founded in 2022 with the aim of showcasing regional writers, covering everything from regional novels and thrillers to children's literature.
The festival takes place over a full weekend and caters to readers of all ages: it features a themed opening night, a writers' fair on Saturday, readings and workshops for children, and the traditional dictation inspired by Bernard Pivot to close the event on Sunday.

For its 3rd edition, the Lalbenque Book Festival brings together around twenty local and regional authors for a weekend of literary celebration: an opening night featuring a charitable cycling adventure, a writers' fair and children's activities on Saturday, and a traditional French dictation challenge on Sunday.

Friday, September 25, 2026
- 6:30 PM — Opening Night · Town Hall Square: screening of the short film "Le ride des Colibris," documenting a cycling adventure for sick children, followed by a Q&A with the cyclists and athletes.
Saturday, September 26, 2026
- 10:00 AM–1:00 PM and 2:00 PM–6:00 PM — Writers' Fair · Village Hall: meet around twenty local and regional authors for book signings and discussions.
- 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM — Children's storytime sessions.
- Saturday afternoon — "The Little Prince" themed drawing workshop for children.
Sunday, September 27, 2026
- 3:00 PM — Dictée de Pivot · Village Hall: a classic French spelling bee followed by a guided correction and discussion.
