About Le Légendaire
Le Légendaire is a traveling festival dedicated to storytelling and the imagination, organized by the Hamsa company in partnership with the Ligue de l'enseignement d'Eure-et-Loir since 2000. Every autumn, the festival tours around fifteen towns across the department, bringing performances, storytelling walks, evening gatherings, exhibitions, and a mobile bookshop to village halls, libraries, museums, and occasionally retirement homes and correctional facilities. Since 2017, it has also hosted Les Rencontres du Légendaire, a book fair focused on heritage and fantasy, featuring panel discussions, book signings, and masterclasses.
Le Légendaire — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of Le Légendaire continues its tour of Eure-et-Loir, organized by the Hamsa company, featuring storytelling walks, performances, and opportunities to meet storytellers and musicians. The festival kicks off with a storytelling walk around the Mézières-Écluzelles lake on October 25th, and concludes with Les Rencontres du Légendaire on the weekend of November 15th and 16th in Luisant, featuring shows, a book fair, and author meet-and-greets.
