Contemporary music festival in Luisant, near Chartres
Born in 2019 from the collaboration between the town of Luisant and the association La Machine, Le Printemps Sonique quickly established itself as a must-attend event for contemporary music in Eure-et-Loir. This festival, hosted at the Salle André Malraux in Luisant, near Chartres, offers a bold and eclectic program that highlights musical discoveries.
Le Printemps Sonique stands out for its desire to mix musical genres: pop, rock, folk, electro, hip-hop, and world music share the same stage. The program alternates between emerging artists and confirmed headliners, offering the audience in Eure-et-Loir a rich and varied musical experience. The festival pays particular attention to the regional scene, providing a showcase for bands and artists from the Centre-Val de Loire region.
Each edition is organized over several weekends or evenings, allowing festival-goers to choose concerts according to their tastes. The intimate atmosphere of the Salle André Malraux, with its human-scale capacity, fosters a rare closeness between artists and the audience.
After several editions affected by health restrictions, the festival underwent significant evolution. The association Les Sons du Sous-Sol took over the organization, renaming the event L'Paille à Sonique. This name change marks a renewal while preserving the original spirit of the festival: promoting contemporary music in a semi-rural setting and making culture accessible to all.
The festival benefits from the support of Chartres Métropole and is part of the cultural dynamic of the Chartres urban area. It contributes to the musical influence of a region often overshadowed by the proximity of Paris, proving that a demanding program can find its audience outside major cities.
Beyond the concerts, Le Printemps Sonique carries a real cultural mediation project. Music discovery workshops, artist meet-and-greets, and school outreach activities accompany each edition. The festival is also committed to an eco-responsible approach with the use of reusable cups, selective sorting, and the use of local caterers.
The town of Luisant, adjacent to Chartres to the southwest, offers a pleasant setting for festival-goers. Its proximity to Chartres train station (accessible in one hour from Paris-Montparnasse) makes the festival easily accessible for music lovers from the Paris region.
The 2026 edition, now named L'Paille à Sonique, takes place in February 2026 at the Salle André Malraux in Luisant. This change of season marks the evolution of the festival, which nevertheless retains its DNA of discovery and promotion of contemporary music in Eure-et-Loir.
Organized by the association Les Sons du Sous-Sol, this edition offers a program rich in musical discoveries over a weekend.
