Le Rock Ne Meurt Jamais was born in 2020 from the energy and conviction of a handful of enthusiasts gathered within the Djunbox association. In La Guyonnière, a delegated commune of Montaigu-Vendée, these rock lovers decided to create a festival in their image: friendly and resolutely focused on the vibrant rock scene. The chosen setting — Lac de la Chausselière and its leisure base — offers a magnificent natural backdrop for open-air concerts, amidst sparkling waters and the greenery of the Vendée bocage.

A Demanding and Eclectic Rock Program

Each edition of the festival offers a carefully curated lineup that reflects the diversity and vitality of the contemporary rock scene. From gritty garage rock to furious punk rock, from inventive alternative rock to classic rock'n'roll, Le Rock Ne Meurt Jamais eagerly explores the genre's many facets. The 2023 edition notably hosted We Hate You Please Die, Diamond Dog, The Twin Souls, and Black Boys on Moped, while the 2022 edition brought The Gulps from London alongside French bands like The Blind Suns and The Radioactive.

This program, mixing international acts and bands from the Greater West of France, demonstrates the organizers' ambition: to offer quality concerts to the Vendée public, in a spirit of discovery and sharing.

A Festival Rooted in the Vendée Bocage

Le Rock Ne Meurt Jamais is fully integrated into the associative and cultural fabric of Montaigu-Vendée. The Djunbox association, chaired by Yann Bossard, does not just organize this annual festival: it enlivens local cultural life throughout the year through record fairs, concerts, and solidarity events, particularly in support of the Cap Pour la Vie association in the fight against cancer.

The festival traditionally takes place around Music Day in June, transforming the shores of Lac de la Chausselière into a space of musical freedom where all generations come together. From 6 PM, the first chords resonate over the water, and the evening extends late into the night, carried by the energy of the bands and the enthusiasm of a loyal and growing audience.

The Rock Spirit in Montaigu-Vendée

As a local rock festival, Le Rock Ne Meurt Jamais has cultivated a strong attachment to conviviality, the live scene, and the discovery of new bands since its beginnings. Long free, the event will evolve from 2026 with the introduction of a modestly priced ticketing system to ensure the sustainability of the program and public reception.
