A traveling festival at the heart of the territory
Since 2016, Bièvre Isère Communauté has been organizing the Les Arts Allumés festival, a performing arts event that unfolds every spring in about ten towns in the region. For two to three weeks, from April to early May, shows of all disciplines take over village squares, community halls, and public spaces in Bièvre, a vast rural area located between the Isère plain and the hills of Bas-Dauphiné.
Concerts, theater, circus, and street performances
The programming of Les Arts Allumés is resolutely multidisciplinary: concerts of contemporary and world music, street performances mixing acrobatics and theater, contemporary circus, dance, burlesque, body percussion, and artistic performances for all audiences. Each edition is built around a theme or a common thread that guides the programming and creates coherence between the different shows.
13 towns involved
One of the festival's unique features is its territorial anchoring: the shows take place in 13 towns in the western sector of Bièvre Isère, including Beaufort, Bressieux, Châtenay, Lentiol, Marcollin, Marnans, Montfalcon, Saint-Clair-sur-Galaure, Saint-Siméon-de-Bressieux, Saint-Pierre-de-Bressieux, Roybon, Thodure, and Viriville. This itinerant nature allows culture to thrive in places that do not always have cultural facilities, bringing performances closer to the residents.
A participatory and inclusive festival
Les Arts Allumés is distinguished by its participatory dimension: residents are invited to get involved in the organization, welcoming artists, and sometimes even in the performances themselves. Apéro-concerts (concerts with drinks and snacks), outdoor performances, and moments of conviviality around local refreshments and food stalls punctuate each day of the festival. The event benefits from the support of the Département de l'Isère.
10 years of performing arts in a rural setting
In 2026, the festival will celebrate its 10th edition, a symbolic milestone that testifies to the success of an ambitious cultural project in a rural area. Over the years, Les Arts Allumés has contributed to creating a cultural network in the Bièvre Isère region, uniting associations, volunteers, elected officials, and residents around the conviction that performing arts are a tool for social connection and territorial vitality.
