Les Émergences: Talent Scout in Mayenne

For over twenty years, Les Émergences has been the primary program for spotting and supporting the Mayenne music scene. This program, closely linked to the 6PAR4 contemporary music venue in Laval (labeled SMAC since 2015), offers a showcase and support for emerging artists from the Mayenne department.

A Springboard for Contemporary Music

Les Émergences is aimed at amateur artists and groups residing in Mayenne in the field of contemporary music, all styles included:

• Rock and alternative rock
• Metal and extreme music
• Hip-hop and rap
• Electro and electronic music
• French chanson
• Jazz and improvised music
• World music

Selected artists must not have a booking agent or record label, ensuring that the program is truly for emerging projects.

Les Émergences Evenings at 6PAR4

Les Émergences evenings are public concerts organized at 6PAR4, a 330-capacity venue located in Laval. These evenings allow selected artists to perform in front of an audience under professional conditions, and the public to discover the richness and diversity of the local music scene. Admission is at a reduced price (around €6), making these concerts accessible to all.

Artists Discovered

Over the years, Les Émergences has helped promote many Mayenne groups, including Club Mutant (French rock), Inside the Inside (alternative rock), Medena (rock-electro), and many other local talents.

Evolution Towards a New Program

Since 2024, the Les Émergences collective has undertaken a restructuring of its support program to better meet the realities of a changing sector. The new program, integrated into cinqtrois, will focus on artistic residencies, training, and a rethought diffusion, with project selection in November.

6PAR4: Laval's SMAC

6PAR4 is Laval's Scène de Musiques Actuelles (Contemporary Music Venue), established in 2008 in a dedicated facility with a capacity of 330 seats. Beyond concerts, 6PAR4 offers music practice workshops, artist residencies, and support for musical projects in the region, of which Les Émergences is one of the flagship initiatives.
