The street festival that brings the territory to life
Since 2003, the Les Escalpades festival has enlivened the early summer in the towns of the Beine-Bourgogne territory, northeast of Reims. Led by the ESCAL (Sociocultural and Leisure Activities Center) of Witry-lès-Reims, this street performance festival follows an original and friendly formula: one evening, one show, one town. For six days, from Monday to Saturday, an artistic company takes over a different village each evening to offer a free show accessible to all.
An itinerant festival in the heart of the villages
Les Escalpades transforms village squares, municipal parks, and public spaces into ephemeral stages. The shows, scheduled for 7 PM, mix circus, street theater, humor, and music, for a family and intergenerational audience. This itinerant formula allows street arts to be discovered in rural and peri-urban towns, creating a strong social bond between artists, elected officials, and residents of the territory.
Nearly 50,000 spectators since its creation
In over twenty years of existence, the festival has attracted nearly 50,000 spectators, building a loyal and ever-growing audience. The event has established itself as an unmissable early summer event in the Marne department, offering quality programming in a friendly and accessible setting. Les Escalpades contributes to the cultural dynamism of the Beine-Bourgogne territory and showcases the village heritage of Grand Reims.

Each edition invites performing arts companies recognized on national and regional stages. The diversity of disciplines — acrobatics, clowning, giant puppets, physical theater, open-air concerts — guarantees a renewed, surprising, and poetic program year after year, delighting both young and old.

22nd edition of the Les Escal'Pades festival, from Monday, June 22 to Saturday, June 27, 2026: a week of free street shows, one evening in a different commune of the Beine-Bourgogne territory (Berru, Caurel, Nogent-l'Abbesse, Beine-Nauroy, Pomacle and Witry-lès-Reims). A 22nd itinerant edition from June 22 to 27, 2026
Les Escal'Pades return from Monday, June 22 to Saturday, June 27, 2026 to the Beine-Bourgogne territory, northeast of Reims. For six evenings, each participating commune hosts a free street show at 7 PM: circus, theatre, humour, music, acrobatic performance. Six villages take turns before a multi-show finale on Saturday in Witry-lès-Reims.
A free festival that enlivens the villages
Organized by ESCAL (Espace Socioculturel et d'Animation de Loisirs) of Witry-lès-Reims, the festival, true to its formula «one evening, one show, one commune», introduces street arts to rural and peri-urban communes of Grand Reims. The 2026 program brings together clowns, contemporary circus, physical theatre, performance and live music, for a family audience.
A festive closing in Witry-lès-Reims
On Saturday, June 27, Witry-lès-Reims hosts three events in the late afternoon and evening: an acrobatic duo, a burlesque comedy and an open-air rock-swing concert to beautifully conclude this week of shows.
