Les Estivales du Freney: Classical Music at Altitude

Since 2001, Les Estivales du Freney have set the small village of Freney-d'Oisans vibrating to the rhythm of classical music. This summer festival, driven by the passion of artistic director Lorenzo Cipriani, has created a unique musical event in the magnificent setting of the Alps of Oisans, between glaciers and peaks.

A Local Mountain Festival

Freney-d'Oisans, a small mountain village located on the road to the Lautaret pass, offers an intimate and warm setting to host classical music. Concerts take place in emblematic locations in the village and its surroundings: the church of Freney-d'Oisans, the Halle de l'Europe, the church of Bourg-d'Oisans, and the Théâtre la Clouterie in Saint-Barthélémy-de-Séchilienne.

A Varied Classical Program

Each edition offers a rich and varied program:

• Organ Recitals: musical hours centered around the organ of the Freney church
• Chamber Music: trios, quartets, and ensembles in intimate configurations
• Choral Works: the Chœur des Estives, the festival's choral ensemble, performs major works from the sacred and secular repertoire
• Operettas: light and festive productions, such as the works of Jacques Offenbach

Musical Workshops and Courses
