About Fêtes d'Agen

Les Fêtes d'Agen, formerly Grand Pruneau Show, is a popular festival created in 2005 that transforms the city center of Agen into a huge festive space on the last weekend before the start of the school year. For two days, the Place du Docteur Esquirol hosts concerts by national artists, while the pedestrian streets buzz with the rhythm of bandas, bodegas, street shows and free entertainment. The Boulevard du Pruneau d'Agen celebrates the famous local fruit with tastings and culinary demonstrations, making this event a must-see in Lot-et-Garonne.

Les Fêtes d'Agen, the festive event of Lot-et-Garonne

Created in 2005 under the name of Grand Pruneau Show, Les Fêtes d'Agen has become one of the major events in the southwest of France. Every year, on the last weekend before the start of the school year, the city center of Agen is transformed into a gigantic festive space where music, gastronomy and entertainment combine to attract more than 60,000 visitors.

Concerts of national scope

The Place du Docteur Esquirol, at the foot of the town hall, is transformed into a large open-air stage hosting renowned artists. Previous editions have featured headliners from French chanson and the pop scene. In 2025, Pierre Garnier, Joseph Kamel, Eddy de Pretto and Santa set the Agenais public ablaze. The 2026 edition also promises an exceptional program with Matt Pokora, Louane, Jérémy Frérot and Yann Muller.

The Boulevard du Pruneau d'Agen

A true showcase of local produce, the Boulevard du Pruneau d'Agen highlights the emblematic fruit of the region. You will find a gourmet market of regional producers, free tastings of hot prunes and a Cook Show organized by the Bureau Interprofessionnel du Pruneau, with culinary demonstrations and recipes based on Agen prunes.

Free entertainment for everyone

The "Off" program of Les Fêtes d'Agen is entirely free and offers a multitude of activities:

  • Le Boulevard des Pitchouns: space dedicated to children with games, creative workshops, shows and magic
  • La Fabrique de Talents: introductions to dance, beatbox, radio and artistic demonstrations
  • Le Village du Off: creative workshops and participatory activities
  • Le Plateau Sportif: discovery of more than 60 sports disciplines
  • La Bodega des Pompiers: festive atmosphere provided by the firefighters
  • Concerts du Off: brass bands, bandas and DJ sets in the streets of the city center

Live shows and street arts

Throughout the festival, circus, street theater and comedy companies take over the squares and alleys of Agen to offer surprising and accessible shows for everyone. The famous Pruneau Parade, a festive and colorful parade on the theme of prunes, is one of the highlights of the event.
