The great popular festival celebrating the Chartreuse trilogy: the massif, the monks, the liqueur
The Fêtes de la Chartreuse celebrate every year around May 16th the "Chartreuse trilogy": the Chartreuse massif, a vast protected natural area between Grenoble, Chambéry, and Voiron; the Carthusian Order, founded in 1084 by Saint Bruno in the massif; and the Chartreuse liqueur, an elixir with 130 plants produced by the Carthusian monks since the 18th century. This unique triptych is the richness and identity of this exceptional territory.

Organized by the City of Voiron in partnership with the Chartreuse Cellars (Chartreuse Diffusion) and the towns of the massif, the Fêtes de la Chartreuse attract thousands of visitors each year. They contribute to the tourist and cultural influence of the region and the valorization of a unique living heritage.
