The 100% rock festival in the heart of Vendée
It all started one evening in 1989, in a bar in Saint-Prouant, when a group of friends passionate about rock had the crazy idea of organizing an outdoor concert. On July 22, 1989, Vendée's first open-air rock festival was born. Since then, the adventure has never stopped: Les Feux de l'Été has become a regional institution, driven by a non-profit association (law 1901) composed of 100% volunteers.
What makes Les Feux de l'Été strong is its authenticity. No giant sponsors or formatted programming: here, the focus is on artistic quality, conviviality, and the raw energy of live performance. With 15 bands spread across 2 stages and two evenings of concerts, the festival offers a dense and eclectic program featuring rock, punk, ska, reggae, festive music, and alternative discoveries.
Over the years, the festival has hosted more than 283 concerts and attracted over 185,000 festival-goers. Among the memorable artists who have graced the stages of Parc de la Bourroche: Les Wampas, Tagada Jones, Silmarils, La Ruda, Babylon Circus, Boulevard des Airs, Steve'n'Seagulls, and Deportivo.
The festival takes place in the Parc de la Bourroche, a 5-hectare wooded area on the edge of a pond, in the heart of the town of Saint-Prouant. This exceptional natural setting, far from the urban hustle and bustle, offers an ideal playground for a friendly festival: free integrated camping, shaded areas, and a guaranteed rural atmosphere.
Each year, nearly 500 volunteers mobilize around a board of 25 active members to keep this event alive. The association Les Feux de l'Été also organizes other concerts throughout the year, contributing to the cultural dynamism of the region. The festival is also committed to the environment with a waste sorting system, the distribution of trash bags, and partnerships with local authorities for recycling.
To properly celebrate its 30 years, Les Feux de l'Été returns with a top-notch lineup spread over two incandescent evenings.
