About Guitares Vertes
Les Guitares Vertes is a guitar and world music festival that takes place every summer in the Jumilhac-le-Grand region, in Dordogne. Created in 2004, this touring festival explores a new theme and a new culture each year around the guitar, a universal instrument present in all world music. Concerts are held in various locations in the Jumilhac region: town hall, community halls, churches, and outdoor spaces. The festival also features a participatory orchestra, Les Guitares Vertes, which invites the public to play.

Guitar Through the Cultures
Since 2004, the Les Guitares Vertes festival has explored a new theme and a new culture each year through the guitar, a universal instrument present in all world music. Created in the region of Jumilhac-le-Grand, this touring festival takes place over several weeks in the summer in the communes of Nontronnais.
Concerts Throughout the Territory
Concerts are held in various locations in the Jumilhac region: Jumilhac-le-Grand town hall, community halls, churches, and outdoor spaces in Saint-Jory-de-Chalais, Thiviers, Saint-Paul-la-Roche, Villars, Lanouaille, and Nontron. The programming ranges from African music to world music, including rock, chanson, and traditional music.
A Participatory Orchestra
A unique feature of the festival is the Orchestre des Guitares Vertes, a participatory orchestra that invites the public to play the guitar in a collective concert. The festival also offers film screenings, participatory cabaret shows, and free concerts on July 14th.
