Saint-Lô's multidisciplinary festival blending arts and music
Organized for over twenty years by the association Art Plume in Saint-Lô, the Les Hétéroclites festival is a multidisciplinary event that celebrates creativity in all its forms. Every year in June, in the Vallon de la Dollée and in the bars of Saint-Lô, the festival offers a unique mix of concerts, visual arts, street theater, dance, and participatory workshops. True to its name, the festival cultivates eclecticism and discovery, creating a space for encounters between artists from all backgrounds and a curious audience.
Since its creation by the association Art Plume, the Les Hétéroclites festival has established itself as a unique cultural event in Saint-Lô. True to its name, the festival cultivates eclecticism, the mix of genres, and discovery, offering a program that breaks down boundaries between artistic disciplines.
The association Art Plume, created in 1993, was born from the rehabilitation of an industrial wasteland slated for demolition. A handful of artists saw the potential of this place and, with the support of the city, transformed it into an artistic creation center. Located in the Vallon de la Dollée, Art Plume has become a vibrant space for creation, experimentation, and artistic dissemination, hosting artist studios, rehearsal rooms, and exhibition spaces.
Les Hétéroclites is a true invitation to discovery and wonder. The festival offers a unique blend of artistic disciplines:
For several years, the festival has extended into the bars of Saint-Lô with Les Baroclites: evenings of concerts and exhibitions organized off-site from Art Plume, bringing the eclectic spirit of the festival into the heart of the city.
The Tremplin des Hétéroclites is a program that offers a valuable platform for emerging talents. Musicians, visual artists, and budding performers find opportunities to perform in front of a supportive and curious audience, in a professional and stimulating environment.
The atmosphere of Les Hétéroclites is as its name suggests: joyful, colorful, and unexpected. Street artists, itinerant musicians, and plastic installations create a festive and accessible atmosphere, where everyone can wander at their leisure and be surprised by unexpected artistic encounters.
The 29th edition of Les Hétéroclites will take place in June 2026 at Art Plume and in the bars of Saint-Lô. The festival will offer concerts, visual arts, street performances, and participatory workshops, with the return of the Tremplin des Hétéroclites for emerging talents.
