Les Jaunay'Stivales: Twenty Years of Celebration in Vendée

Since 2005, the Les Jaunay'Stivales festival has enlivened summer evenings in the Pays des Achards in Vendée. Supported by the Community of Communes of the Pays des Achards, this free outdoor cultural event has built a loyal, large family audience over the years. In 2025, the festival celebrated its 20th anniversary, confirming its place in the Vendée cultural landscape.

An Itinerant and Convivial Festival

The originality of Jaunay'Stivales lies in its itinerant format: each evening takes place in a different town in the region, taking over remarkable natural and heritage sites. The Terrasses du Jaunay in Beaulieu-sous-la-Roche, the outdoor spaces of Saint-Julien-des-Landes, Sainte-Flaive-des-Loups, La Chapelle-Hermier, and Les Achards all host the festivities in turn. This format highlights local heritage while bringing culture closer to the residents.

An Eclectic and Accessible Program

Each evening is built around a dual program: a street performance at 8 p.m. (circus, theater, aerial dance) followed by a festive concert at 9 p.m., in various genres ranging from French chanson to jazz, from Celtic rock to world music. Among the artists who have graced the festival's stages are groups like Brin d'Zinc, The Celtic Tramps, Mouv'N'Brass, Karpatt, and the Scratchophone Orchestra. Some evenings conclude with fireworks.

A Unifying Event

Entirely free, the festival emphasizes conviviality with food and drink areas run by local associations starting at 7 p.m. Les Jaunay'Stivales is a true highlight of the Vendée summer, bringing together families, residents, and vacationers for music and live performance in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.
