Les Jeudis du Port: Brest Vibrates to the Rhythm of Summer
Since 1991, Les Jeudis du Port have transformed the commercial port of Brest into a vast space for celebration and culture every summer. This free festival, which has become the major summer event of the Brest metropolitan area, offers three exceptional evenings on Thursdays in late July and early August, in the heart of a unique maritime site.
Music, Street Arts, and Performances for All
The programming of Les Jeudis du Port revolves around two music stages: the Docks stage, dedicated to artistic discoveries starting at 7 PM, and the Grand Large stage, which hosts headliners from 8:30 PM. In parallel, street arts take over the entire site thanks to the programming of Le Fourneau, the national center for street arts and public spaces. Performances and activities for young audiences are also offered at the Parc à Chaînes from 6 PM to 10 PM.
A Unifying and Free Event
The free nature of Les Jeudis du Port makes it a profoundly popular and unifying event. Families, young people, music lovers, and the curious gather in a friendly atmosphere by the bay of Brest. The diversity of the programming—from French chanson to rock, from hip-hop to world music—allows everyone to find something they enjoy. The festival welcomes approximately 80,000 cumulative spectators over the three evenings.
Strong Territorial Roots
Organized by the city of Brest in collaboration with Quai Ouest Musiques and Le Fourneau, Les Jeudis du Port are fully integrated into the cultural dynamics of the metropolitan area. The event helps reconcile Brest residents with their maritime facade and promote the commercial port, long perceived as an industrial area far from the city center. Today, Les Jeudis du Port are a symbol of Brest's cultural vitality.
