Les Jeudis du Vin is a summer wine event that takes place every Thursday afternoon, from July to the end of August, within the majestic walls of the Royal Fortress of Chinon. This unique event combines the discovery of medieval heritage with the tasting of Chinon appellation wines, one of the most prestigious in the Loire Valley.

An exceptional setting for tasting

The Chinon Fortress, perched on its rocky spur overlooking the Vienne, offers a spectacular setting for this wine event. It is in this place steeped in history, where Joan of Arc met the Dauphin in 1429, that the winemakers of the Chinon AOC welcome visitors for moments of sharing and conviviality. Tastings are held from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, allowing wine lovers to fully enjoy the afternoon in this site classified as a historic monument.

Meeting the winemakers of the Chinon AOC

Every Thursday, several winemakers from the Chinon appellation are present to showcase their productions. The Chinon AOC, recognized since 1937, produces remarkable red, rosé, and white wines primarily from the Cabernet Franc grape variety. The producers passionately share the particularities of their terroir, explain their winemaking methods, and offer commented tastings of their different vintages. Visitors can also purchase the tasted wines directly on site.
