The Suscinio Medieval Festival returns on Saturday, May 23 and Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the Domaine de Suscinio in Sarzeau, in the Gulf of Morbihan. For this 2026 edition, the castle of the Dukes of Brittany celebrates the arrival of Anne of Brittany in Suscinio at the end of the 15th century: historical encampments, equestrian jousts, a medieval market, artisans, period music and dances transport visitors to the heart of the Middle Ages.
2026 Edition: Anne of Brittany in Suscinio
On the weekend of May 23 and 24, 2026, the Domaine de Suscinio in Sarzeau plunges into the late 15th century to celebrate the arrival of Anne of Brittany at the Dukes' castle. Two days of continuous entertainment from 10 AM to 7 PM, within and around the fortified castle surrounded by its moats.
Shows and demonstrations
- Equestrian jousts and foot combat by the troupe Les Écuyers de l'Histoire, at 11:30 AM and 4 PM, in honor of Anne of Brittany
- Medieval music and dances at 11 AM, 2 PM, 3 PM, 4 PM and 5 PM
- Skits, theatrical strolls and historical reenactments throughout the day
Encampments and workshops
- Historical encampments of reenactment troupes: candle making, bow construction, military training
- Medieval printing workshop (reproduction of late Middle Ages techniques)
- Artisan demonstrations: pottery, calligraphy, illumination, plant dyeing
- Introduction to crossbow shooting
- Costume fitting in the duchess's wardrobe
- Activities around medieval herbalism and ancient medicine
Market and catering
A medieval market brings together art artisan stalls and merchants. Two 100% medieval catering points operate all day: Le Snack Barbalète and L'Échoppe du Griffon noir.
Castle visit included
The Medieval Festival entrance ticket includes free access to the visit of Suscinio Castle (audioguide available). Visitors can also extend their discovery along the domain's paths, between marshes, dunes, and coastal forest.
Tip
Visitors arriving in medieval costume receive a -10% discount on the entrance ticket.

By Car: The Domaine de Suscinio is located in Sarzeau, on the Rhuys peninsula, 25 km from Vannes via the D780. Free parking on site.
By Bus: Kicéo network from Vannes to Sarzeau. Stop near the estate.

Adults: €12. Children aged 10 to 17 and people with disabilities: €6.50. Free for children under 10. The ticket includes access to the Médiévales and the castle visit.

An Exceptional Castle
The Château de Suscinio, owned by the department of Morbihan and managed by Kléber Rossillon, is one of Brittany's most visited monuments. Castle visits (self-guided or with audio guide) are included in the Médiévales entrance ticket.
A Preserved Natural Setting
The Domaine de Suscinio is surrounded by a protected natural area: marshes, dunes, and coastal forest form an exceptional landscape between the Golfe du Morbihan and the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can extend their discovery with a walk along the estate's trails.
