Festival in Ille-et-Vilaine
Les Musicales de Redon is a classical music festival that takes place in early July in Redon and the Pays de Redon, on the border of Ille-et-Vilaine, Morbihan, and Loire-Atlantique. For about ten days, the festival offers concerts in a dozen communes in the area, mixing great French performers and emerging young talents.
Driven by a low-price policy and free admission for those under 18, the festival makes use of both heritage sites (the Monastère des Calvairiennes, churches and castles in the Pays de Redon) and venues such as Carré 9 or Ciné Manivel, to make classical music accessible to all audiences.
Les Musicales de Redon is a classical music festival organized annually in early July by the association Les Musicales de Redon. Concerts are held in Redon and in a dozen communes of the Pays de Redon, a territory located at the crossroads of Ille-et-Vilaine, Morbihan, and Loire-Atlantique, in Brittany.
For about ten days, the festival offers a demanding and varied program: recitals, chamber music, orchestra, traditional music, and new creations. The festival highlights both established performers and young talents, and gives a special place to women musicians in its program.
Concerts take place in remarkable sites in the area: the Monastère des Calvairiennes and Carré 9 in Redon, Ciné Manivel, as well as numerous churches and castles in the surrounding communes (Guémené-Penfao, Bains-sur-Oust, Rieux, Peillac, Avessac, Carentoir, Saint-Just, Sixt-sur-Aff, Brain-sur-Vilaine, Saint-Nicolas-de-Redon, Pipriac…).
The association implements a low-price policy, with free admission for those under 18, to welcome the largest possible audience, especially families. Concerts dedicated to young audiences and families are offered in partnership with other associations and member communes.
