About Pique-Niques Kerhorres
Pique-Niques Kerhorres — edition 2026
The Pique-Niques Kerhorres are bringing two street art events to Le Relecq-Kerhuon in 2026: Sunday, July 19th on the Coulée Verte and Sunday, August 9th at the Parc de Camfrout. Organized by the City and Le Fourneau, the National Center for Street Arts and Public Space, this free summer season features "Bingo Novela" by Les Sœurs Goudron, "Clan Cabane" by La Contrebande, "Furtives" by La Baleine Cargo, and the mobile rock brass band Green Line Marching Band. Just bring your picnic basket and a checkered blanket, find a spot, and enjoy a picnic after the show.
Two street art picnics in July and August 2026
Conceived by the City of Le Relecq-Kerhuon and Le Fourneau, the National Center for Street Arts and Public Space, the Pique-Niques Kerhorres are summer invitations to share a simple, warm-hearted moment. Bring your own meal, settle in with family, friends, or colleagues, and let yourself be moved by artistic performances set against the backdrop of the town's public spaces. The 2026 edition takes place in two parts: Sunday, July 19th with the "Pique-Nique à l'Unisson," followed by Sunday, August 9th with the "Pique-Nique de la Corniche."
Sunday, July 19th: Pique-Nique à l'Unisson, at the Coulée Verte
The Coulée Verte, accessible on foot from Rue Danton, will host two all-ages shows. At 4:02 PM, Les Sœurs Goudron perform "Bingo Novela" (1h20, 2024 creation, Chabeuil): the ruthless private investor Sauciflex wants to buy the social rehabilitation center where the troupe grew up, so the sisters reform their choir and organize a charity bingo show featuring polyphonic singing, magic tricks, karaoke, and acrobatics.
At 6:18 PM, La Contrebande follows with "Clan Cabane" (45 min, 2022 creation, Bègles). Five acrobats with a love for freedom revisit their childhood games: using straps, two trampolines, wooden planks, and springs, they build huts and adventure playgrounds where they challenge each other and explore the power of the group, blending risk, humor, and virtuosity. The picnic is shared right after the performance.
Sunday, August 9th: Pique-Nique de la Corniche, at Parc de Camfrout
The second event takes place at the Parc de Camfrout, on the cliffside. At 11:33 AM, La Baleine Cargo presents "Furtives" (1h, 2024 creation, La Rochelle, ages 10+): three women slip into the city to sow the seeds of revolt, speaking, signing, singing, dancing, and pasting unifying slogans on the walls. A multifaceted, inclusive, and committed show, it creates a sense of community to move forward together.
The picnic follows the performance, around 12:30 PM, facing the harbor. At 2:03 PM, the Green Line Marching Band (1h, 2024 creation, Nantes) closes the day: this Nantes-based supergroup shakes up traditional brass band conventions with guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals in a mobile, explosive formation that boldly revisits pop classics.
A free event, close to the community
Since 2008, the Pique-Niques Kerhorres have brought parks, seaside areas, and iconic sites of Le Relecq-Kerhuon to life by hosting street theater and contemporary artistic forms. Access remains free for all events. Organizers encourage the public to bring their own picnic baskets and checkered blankets, to favor eco-friendly transport—walking, cycling, or scootering—and to arrive on time: shows start promptly at the announced times.

A unique summer festival
Since 2008, the Pique-Niques Kerhorres have been transforming the streets, squares, parks, and seaside of Le Relecq-Kerhuon into ephemeral artistic stages. Born from a collaboration between the municipality and Le Fourneau, the National Centre for Street Arts and Public Space based in Brest, these summer gatherings offer an original concept: discover street arts and then share a picnic in a public space.
The concept: bring your own meal
Everyone brings their own picnic basket and checkered tablecloth, settles in with family, friends, or colleagues, and lets themselves be carried away by artistic emotions in the settings provided by the town's public spaces. Performances start at the scheduled times, often at intentionally unconventional hours, and the picnic is shared right after the show.
An eclectic program
The program highlights all disciplines of street art: poetic or socially engaged street theater, circus and acrobatics, polyphonic singing, mobile brass bands, roaming performances, and contemporary creations. Each season brings together companies from all over France, invited by Le Fourneau as part of its mission to promote arts in public spaces.
At the heart of the neighborhoods
The Pique-Niques Kerhorres take place in various locations across the town: the Coulée Verte, the Parc de Camfrout and the corniche, the Cale du Passage, the Place de la Résistance, the Parc du Gué Fleuri, and even the area around the Pont Albert-Louppe. This roaming nature brings all neighborhoods to life and reaches out to all residents, with two to three events spread throughout the summer.
A free and accessible event
Entirely free and requiring no reservations, this festival is part of an initiative to make culture accessible to everyone. It promotes public space as a place for sharing, meeting, and artistic discovery, and illustrates the region's commitment to street arts and local cultural activities.
