World music and intangible cultural heritage in Provence Verte
Organized by Le Chantier, a creation center dedicated to new traditional and world music in Correns, Les Printemps du Monde is a traveling festival that has been crisscrossing the villages of Provence Verte since 1997. The 28th edition was held from June 4 to 8, 2025, in six towns in the Var region. Concerts, balètis, open stages, and artist encounters: the festival celebrates the musical diversity of the world in France's first organic village.
Since 1997, Les Printemps du Monde has been the flagship festival of Le Chantier, an artistic creation center located in Correns, in the heart of Provence Verte. In nearly three decades of existence, this festival has built a unique musical identity, at the crossroads of traditional music from around the world and contemporary creation.
Correns, the main host of the festival, has the distinction of being the first organic village in France, certified organic since the 1990s. This village, perched above the Argens valley, with its terraced vineyards and its Provençal Tuscan air, offers an ideal setting for a festival that celebrates both cultural diversity and respect for the environment.
Le Chantier is much more than a festival organizer. It is a true resource and artistic creation center dedicated to new traditional and world music, recognized regionally and nationally for the quality of its work. Its missions are multiple:
One of the hallmarks of Les Printemps du Monde is its traveling nature. Far from concentrating on a single site, the festival radiates across several towns in Provence Verte, allowing diverse audiences to access quality programming in their own village.
The 28th edition, from June 4 to 8, 2025, thus unfolded across six towns:
The programming of Les Printemps du Monde embraces exceptional musical diversity. African music, Latin music, Occitan songs, Central Asian music, ethno jazz, flamenco, Balkan music, Corsican or Georgian polyphonies: the festival is a true musical tour of the world, rooted in tradition while embracing contemporary creation.
In addition to concerts, there are balètis — participatory traditional dance evenings — open stages hosting amateur and aspiring professional musicians, and workshops on instrument making, singing, and dancing, as well as an artisan market showcasing local and global know-how.
The 28th edition was hailed by festival-goers and professionals alike as a great success. Five days of concerts, encounters, and sharing brought together several thousand spectators in the villages of Provence Verte. The Théâtre de verdure in Correns, the festival's main stage, offered its most luminous evenings for concerts by artists from all over the world.
Les Printemps du Monde is distinguished by its participatory dimension. The audience is not just a spectator: they are invited to sing, dance, discover, and learn. The balètis, accessible to everyone without prior experience, are one of the most appreciated moments of the festival. Friendliness and warm welcome are fundamental values of Le Chantier and its festival.
Pricing is designed to be accessible: weekend passes at €30, single tickets at €12-16. Reduced rates are offered for members, students, and minors.
The 29th edition of Les Printemps du Monde will be held from May 22 to 24, 2026, in Correns and the villages of Provence Verte.
