A sporting and festive weekend around cycling

Les Roues Tourangelles is the popular festival organized around the prestigious professional cycling race La Roue Tourangelle, a Coupe de France FDJ event. Every year at the end of March, the town of Chinon vibrates to the rhythm of cycling for a whole weekend, with activities accessible to all levels and ages.

Routes for all cyclists

Saturday is dedicated to popular events with a rich and varied program:

• Cycle touring rides: three routes of 58 km, 75 km, and 100 km starting from Chinon, through the vineyards and landscapes of Touraine.
• Tourist ride: a 21 km route in the afternoon with stops at cellars for tastings of local products.
• Gravel routes: two routes of 40 km and 90 km for lovers of paths and trails.
• Walking: hiking routes for non-cyclists.

La Roue Tourangelle: a professional classic

Sunday is the day of the professional race La Roue Tourangelle, the 4th round of the Coupe de France FDJ. Nearly 200 professional riders start from Chinon for a 197 km route through Touraine, offering an exceptional sporting spectacle. The race finish is watched by thousands of spectators gathered along the route and in the towns it passes through.

Festive village and conviviality

Throughout the weekend, an exhibitors' village welcomes visitors with stands for cycling equipment, sports associations, local food and drink, and entertainment. The evenings are punctuated by concerts and convivial moments that make the festival a true popular event for the Chinonais region. The event is organized by the Cyclos Randonneurs Chinonais and benefits from the support of local authorities.
