Grand rural festival with tractor pull, vintage cars and soapbox derby
There is no edition scheduled in 2026 for this event. This page remains accessible to archive the history of the manifestation and will be updated if a new edition is announced.
Tinchebray-Bocage, a commune in southwestern Orne, is the beating heart of the Norman bocage, a region of meadows, hedgerows, and traditional farms. It is in this authentic rural setting that the association Les Villages Tinchebrayens organizes a popular festival every autumn celebrating the agricultural and mechanical heritage of the Norman countryside.
The main attraction of Villages en Fête is the large exhibition of vintage tractors and classic cars. Dozens of carefully restored machines are presented by their passionate owners, offering a fascinating panorama of the evolution of agricultural mechanization in the 20th century.
Visitors can admire iconic models of vintage tractors — McCormick, Massey Ferguson, Renault, John Deere — and vintage cars in impeccable condition. A parade allows these beautiful machines to be seen in motion, in a spectacle that delights mechanics enthusiasts and nostalgics alike.
Since the latest editions, the all-terrain soapbox derby demonstration has become one of the festival's main attractions. About twenty teams compete on a bumpy course with their homemade vehicles, in a good-natured and hilarious atmosphere that delights the public.
The tractor pulling — a traction competition where tractors must tow a weight over the longest possible distance — is another highlight of the day, showcasing the power of these agricultural machines.
A militaria area displays vintage military vehicles and historical equipment. Demonstrations of traditional agricultural know-how allow visitors to discover the skills of yesteryear: threshing, blacksmithing, harnessing.
An exhibition of ULM (ultralight motorized aircraft) allows the curious to discover these aircraft up close and chat with the pilots.
On-site catering offers meals under cover (by reservation), as well as sausages, fries, and crepes for sale. The traditional raffle offers a restored vintage tractor as the main prize, a prize that makes agricultural mechanics enthusiasts dream.
