About Lyon Science Festival
Every year, the Fête de la Science takes place across the Lyon Metropolitan area and the Rhône, coordinated by Pop'Sciences, the scientific outreach mission of the Université de Lyon. For ten days, researchers, students, associations, and museums open their doors or set up booths, with a national theme serving as the common thread for dozens of science villages and trails spread across the region.
Each edition brings together over a hundred organizations—including laboratories, schools, libraries, and businesses—to host workshops, hands-on experiments, and encounters with scientists, designed for families and students alike.
Lyon Science Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition celebrates gastronomy and taste under the theme "Saveurs Savantes" (Learned Flavors): featuring fermentation workshops, a culinary escape game, and encounters with archaeologists and neuroscientists across 31 municipalities in the Lyon Metropolitan area and the Rhône department.

- 9 partner festivals integrated into the program
- Hands-on workshops on fermentation
- Large-scale gastronomy-themed escape game
- Meet-and-greets with archaeologists and neuroscientists
- Dedicated programming for schools, from primary to high school (180 activities)
