Ceramics and artisanal pottery market in the historic village of Beauronne in Dordogne
The small village of Beauronne, nestled in the heart of the Double forest in Dordogne, between Mussidan and Ribérac, has a rich history as a pottery village. In the mid-18th century, no fewer than 130 potters practiced their craft there. It is in homage to this ancestral tradition that the commune has been organizing a potters' market in the alleys around its Romanesque church since 2004.
Each edition brings together around thirty potters and ceramists offering original works in various styles: utilitarian pottery, decorative objects, sculptures, contemporary ceramics, enamels, stoneware, and earthenware. Visitors can admire the diversity of ceramic techniques and artistic expressions.
The market offers numerous free activities: participatory workshops for children and adults, live demonstrations of shaping, decoration, and glazing by the potters, and the assembly of a Raku kiln on-site. These activities allow the public to discover the gestures and know-how of ceramic art.
The Marché des Potiers de Beauronne will return in August 2026 for its 23rd edition. Around thirty potters and ceramists will take over the village alleys around the Romanesque church to exhibit their creations. Participatory workshops, demonstrations, and a Raku kiln will be on the program. Admission will be free. Dates to be confirmed.
The market takes place in the alleys around the Romanesque church of Beauronne, 24400 Beauronne.
