Jazz under the Marseille stars
Created in 2000 under the name "Jazz des cinq continents", the festival took its current name Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents in 2015. Since its first edition in the gardens of the Palais Longchamp, this festival has established itself as one of the unmissable jazz events in France and the Mediterranean, attracting thousands of spectators each summer to exceptional heritage sites.
A program open to the world
True to its vocation as a "five continents" festival, the program embraces all aesthetics of jazz — from bebop to contemporary jazz — while being widely open to world music, soul, funk, Afro-Caribbean music, and musical traditions from all continents. Each edition hosts about twenty leading international artists alongside emerging talents and musicians from the local scene.
Exceptional venues
The festival unfolds in several emblematic venues in Marseille: the gardens of the Palais Longchamp, the historic venue of the festival, the Centre de la Vieille Charité, the Friche la Belle de Mai, the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet, and, from 2026, the Parc Henri Fabre. These heritage sites offer a unique setting for open-air concerts under the Mediterranean stars.
