Historical reenactment and medieval shows in the park of Boussac castle
The Boussac Castle, an imposing fortress overlooking the Petite Creuse, serves as a majestic setting for the Medieval Festival. In its tree-lined park, a medieval camp comes to life with passionate reenactors recreating the living conditions and combat techniques of the Middle Ages. The event, born from the passion of local volunteers, offers a complete immersion into the era of the Hundred Years' War.
The program includes combat and armament demonstrations, crossbow shooting, a medieval foundry workshop, and shows by specialized companies. The Compagnie Pescaluna and Arteflammes offer fire shows at dusk. Art craftsmen - potters, cutlers, costume makers, and leather designers - exhibit and sell their medieval-inspired creations.
On Saturday evening, a medieval banquet brings guests together for a period meal in the castle park. The event takes place over two days, Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, allowing families to fully enjoy this dive into history. Admission is set at 7 euros, free for children under 15.
The Medieval Festival of Boussac will be held on Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, 2026 in the castle park. On the program: medieval camp, combat and armament demonstrations, crossbow shooting, art craftsmen, and fire shows at dusk. Medieval banquet on Saturday evening by reservation.
