The summer meeting for high-level horse racing at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse
The Deauville-La Touques racecourse, inaugurated in 1864 on the initiative of the Duc de Morny, is the beating heart of the Deauville summer. Every August, the Meeting de Deauville Barrière transforms this historic setting into the European capital of flat racing, welcoming the world's best thoroughbreds and jockeys.
The meeting offers 16 days of racing on Tuesdays, Thursdays (in semi-night), Saturdays, and Sundays. The sporting program includes 7 Group 1 races, 5 Group 2, and 11 Group 3, featuring legendary events such as the Prix Jacques Le Marois, the Prix Maurice de Gheest, the Prix Rothschild, and the Prix Morny.
With over 1,700 horses and 100 jockeys participating, the meeting attracts tens of thousands of spectators and is one of the highlights of the international racing calendar.
Beyond the races, the meeting offers free entertainment for families on each day: pony rides, inflatable structures, wooden games, mini-golf, Mölkky, giant ball pit, and temporary tattoos. The event is supported by the Barrière Group and organized by France Galop.
The Deauville Barrière Meeting 2026 takes place from August 2 to 30, 2026, at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse. Throughout August, 16 days of top-level flat races (Tuesdays, semi-nocturnal Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays) bring together the international elite, with 7 Group 1 races including the Prix Morny, the Prix Jacques Le Marois, and the Prix Maurice de Gheest. An emblematic summer event on the Normandy coast, combining sport, elegance, festive Thursday evenings, and free entertainment for families.
For its new edition, the Deauville Barrière Meeting offers a full month of competition at the Deauville-La Touques racecourse, from Sunday, August 2 to Sunday, August 30, 2026. On the program: 16 days of flat races, organized on Tuesdays, Thursdays (semi-nocturnal), Saturdays, and Sundays.
The edition features an exceptionally high density of Group races, including 7 Group 1 races, the highlight of the French summer horse racing calendar. Throughout the meeting, jockeys accumulate points in each race, with the winner of the Jockeys' Championship being crowned on the last day, August 30.
Beyond the sport, the meeting is one of the major social and tourist events of the Norman summer: a seaside atmosphere, lively semi-nocturnal events with music, varied catering, and free entertainment for families make each day a festive and public outing.
