The essential metal festival of Île-de-France at Parc de Villeroy
Created in 2012, Mennecy Metal Fest has become in a few years the most important metal gathering in the Parisian region. Every early September, Parc de Villeroy in Mennecy (Essonne) hosts over 30 bands over 3 days, from international headliners to emerging local bands. Metal, thrash, death, folk metal, and electro-metal follow each other in an exceptional open-air setting.
Founded in 2012 by extreme music enthusiasts, Mennecy Metal Fest has established itself in less than fifteen years as the leading showcase for metal in Île-de-France. Organized every early September in the magnificent Parc de Villeroy in Mennecy, the festival benefits from a unique open-air setting that delightfully contrasts with the sonic brutality of the performances.
The Parc de Villeroy, a classified historic estate on the outskirts of Mennecy, offers the festival a remarkable natural setting. Its shaded lawns, tree-lined paths, and vast spaces can accommodate several thousand festival-goers in good conditions, with a main stage and a secondary stage, a food court, merchandising stands, and a camping area. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, true to the spirit of the French metal community.
Mennecy Metal Fest stands out for the diversity and quality of its lineup. Across more than 30 bands in 3 days, you'll find everything from classic heavy metal to thrash, death, black, folk metal, metalcore, power metal, and even electronic incursions at the genre's borders. The festival has hosted big names like Blind Guardian, Mass Hysteria, Loudblast, Ensiferum, Dagoba, Carpenter Brut, and many other French and international acts.
Beyond the music, Mennecy Metal Fest cultivates a strong sense of community. The numerous and motivated volunteers ensure the smooth organization of the event each year. The festival favors accessible prices so that metal remains a celebration open to all, and welcomes veterans of the genre and newcomers discovering the joys of headbanging with equal enthusiasm.
The 14th edition of Mennecy Metal Fest takes place from September 4th to 6th, 2026, at Parc de Villeroy. Among the first announced names: Alestorm (pirate folk metal), Oomph! (German industrial metal), Ultra Vomit, Tagada Jones, and Houle. Other international headliners will be revealed soon.
