About Metal Hunting
A Festival Born from Passion
The Metal Hunting Open Air was born in 2019 from the initiative of a group of metal music enthusiasts who wanted to create their own festival in Lorraine. Faced with a lack of metal concerts in the region, these fans of distorted guitars decided to take matters into their own hands and found a non-profit event dedicated to extreme music.
Two Days of Open-Air Metal
Each year in June, the football stadium in Hunting (57480) transforms into an open-air metal temple. For two days, festival-goers can enjoy a dense lineup mixing:
- Death metal and thrash metal with bands like Death Decline, Profanity, or Depraved.
- Alternative metal and hardcore with regional and national acts.
- Emerging bands that find a stage at Metal Hunting to make themselves known.
2025 Edition
The 2025 edition was held on June 7th and 8th with, notably, Death Decline, Brule, Profanity, Depraved, Point Mort, Battlecreek, Chabtan, Blanket Hill, Tempt Fate, and Colossus of Destiny on the bill.
The Metal Hunting Spirit
What makes the Metal Hunting Open Air unique is its spirit of sharing and its human scale. Far from mega-festivals, the event cultivates a family atmosphere where festival-goers and musicians mingle naturally. The organizers summarize their philosophy: "Distorted guitars, a warm atmosphere".

Beyond the music, the festival offers everything that makes a true metal festival great:

Lorraine Roots
Located in Hunting, a rural commune in the canton of Boulay-Moselle, the festival contributes to the cultural life of an area often far from major music scenes. It offers metal fans from Lorraine, Luxembourg, and neighboring Germany an annual quality event, human-sized and affordably priced.
Metal Hunting — edition 2026
The Metal Hunting Open Air returns for its 2026 edition on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13 in Hunting (Moselle). Two days of open-air metal with 16 bands on the lineup, mixing French and international scenes (Belgium, Poland, Netherlands), camping included and a friendly, human-scale atmosphere.
2026 Edition — June 12 and 13 in Hunting
The Metal Hunting Open Air returns for its new edition on Friday, June 12 (from 4 PM) and Saturday, June 13, 2026, at the usual site in Hunting, Moselle. The campsite remains open until Sunday, June 14 in the morning.
16 bands, 6 nationalities
The 2026 edition brings together 16 bands from the French and international metal scene, with a broad program: death metal, thrash, blackened death, crossover, metalcore, fritcore. Alongside French bands (Voorhees, Demonist, Liquid Flesh, Nihilism, Praetor, Deadly Sins, Blackened, Coming Wolves, Illegal Corpse, Jiro, Rankken, Sanctuary, Toward The Throne), the festival welcomes Banisher (Poland), Baraka (Belgium) and Grindpad (Netherlands).
The Metal Hunting Spirit
A community festival founded in 2019, Metal Hunting cultivates a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere. Camping included in the ticket, beer at cost price (€2 per pint), on-site catering with the HELL DIABLO smoker, vegetarian options, free access for children under 13 accompanied by an adult. Practical information — Metal Hunting
Access
The festival is held in Hunting (57480), Moselle, accessible from Yutz and Thionville via the D654. The site is signposted as you approach the village.
By car: from Metz, take the direction Boulay-Moselle then Hunting (approx. 35 min). From the A4, exit Boulay-Moselle.

Address: Rue des Prés, 57480 Hunting (near the football stadium).
Parking
Free parking included with the ticket, located 300 m from the festival entrance on stabilized grassland. Volunteers guide festival-goers during peak hours and trolleys are available to transport equipment.
Camping La Cerise Sanguinolente
Camping is included in the ticket. Opens Friday at 4 PM, closes Sunday at noon.
- Toilets and water points distributed throughout the site
- Communal showers available Saturday morning
- Allowed: tents, sleeping bags, mattresses, small coolers, personal food
- Forbidden: barbecues, open fires, glass bottles, generators, personal sound systems
Catering
The HELL DIABLO smoker offers snacks all day and full meals during service hours, with vegetarian options. Breakfast served Saturday morning until 11 AM (coffee, juice, pastries).
Bar
Continuous service throughout the festival. Beer at cost price: €2 per pint. Non-alcoholic beverages available.
Minors
Minors receive a pink identification bracelet and must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Camping only with an accompanying adult. Strict zero-alcohol policy applied for minors.
