A Festival Born from Passion

The Metal Hunting Open Air was born in 2019 from the initiative of a group of metal music enthusiasts who wanted to create their own festival in Lorraine. Faced with a lack of metal concerts in the region, these fans of distorted guitars decided to take matters into their own hands and found a non-profit event dedicated to extreme music.

Two Days of Open-Air Metal

Each year in June, the football stadium in Hunting (57480) transforms into an open-air metal temple. For two days, festival-goers can enjoy a dense lineup mixing:

• Death metal and thrash metal with bands like Death Decline, Profanity, or Depraved.
• Alternative metal and hardcore with regional and national acts.
• Emerging bands that find a stage at Metal Hunting to make themselves known.

2025 Edition

The 2025 edition was held on June 7th and 8th with, notably, Death Decline, Brule, Profanity, Depraved, Point Mort, Battlecreek, Chabtan, Blanket Hill, Tempt Fate, and Colossus of Destiny on the bill.

The Metal Hunting Spirit

What makes the Metal Hunting Open Air unique is its spirit of sharing and its human scale. Far from mega-festivals, the event cultivates a family atmosphere where festival-goers and musicians mingle naturally. The organizers summarize their philosophy: "Distorted guitars, a warm atmosphere".

Located in Hunting, a rural commune in the canton of Boulay-Moselle, the festival contributes to the cultural life of an area often far from major music scenes. It offers metal fans from Lorraine, Luxembourg, and neighboring Germany an annual quality event, human-sized and affordably priced.
