The gastronomic and musical festival by the Ill river in Ostwald
In 2022, Robin Dorgler, chef of the Miro restaurant in Ostwald — an establishment distinguished by a TheFork Award and praised for its borderless cuisine with global flavors — decided to extend the spirit of his restaurant into a festive format. Less than a year after the opening of Miro, located in the former Nachtweid inn on the banks of the Ill, he launched the first edition of the Miro Festival on June 11 and 12, 2022, combining concerts, DJ sets, culinary demonstrations, and a food court. The Nice To Meat You association was created to structure the event, mobilizing around forty volunteers.
The Miro Festival is distinguished by its hybrid identity, at the crossroads of a gastronomic festival and a music festival. The Food component brings together around fifteen renowned chefs from all over France, Italy, and the UK each year, offering exclusive masterclasses and sharing their techniques and recipes with the public. Mixologists, sommeliers, and oyster farmers complete this high-end gastronomic offering. The Music component makes the site vibrate with artists from house, funk, electro, and pop, featuring international DJ sets and live concerts from Friday evening to Sunday.
The festival unfolds in the gardens of the Miro restaurant, on the banks of the Ill, a few minutes from the center of Strasbourg. This green and bucolic setting, where the river winds through the trees, gives the event a relaxed and warm atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of large urban festivals. Gourmet exhibitors from Alsace present their artisanal products, creating a true open-air market of flavors.
In four editions, the Miro Festival has built a loyal audience of gastronomy and music lovers. The 2025 edition (June 27-29) brought together 18 chefs and expanded the musical program. The 5th edition, scheduled for June 26 to 28, 2026, promises an even more eclectic and ambitious program, confirming the Miro Festival's place as a unique hybrid event in the Alsatian festival landscape.
5th edition of the Miro Festival — Music & Food, from Friday, June 26 to Sunday, June 28, 2026, in the gardens of the Miro restaurant on the banks of the Ill in Ostwald, at the gates of Strasbourg. On the program: 15 masterclasses by renowned chefs from all over France and abroad, 12 artists in DJ sets and live concerts (house, funk, South American grooves, North African sounds, electro and pop) and 13 artisan exhibitors for a hybrid weekend combining gastronomy, music and craftsmanship in a green riverside setting.
