Every June 21, Montluçon celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur and professional musicians perform for free in the streets and squares of the city center, with a lively route extending into the Medieval City. Coordinated by the City of Montluçon, the day is entirely free and open to all musical styles.
The Fête de la Musique in Montluçon
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Montluçon into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces: local artists and groups, both amateur and professional, enliven the city center to celebrate the arrival of summer.
A route through the city center and the Medieval City
The City of Montluçon coordinates the event to ensure the best coexistence of different musical styles and to establish a coherent route through the city, particularly in the Medieval City. The streets and squares of the center thus host free open-air concerts throughout the day and evening.
