Free concerts in the city center squares on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Arles celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur and professional musicians freely take over the squares and streets of the old town, from Place Voltaire to Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle. Organized by the City of Arles, the day is entirely free and mixes all styles, from gypsy jazz to rock, from Arlesian choirs to tribute concerts.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Arles into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from late morning until the heart of the evening, in all genres and for all audiences.
The City of Arles annually sets up several open stages in the squares and small squares of the old town and neighborhoods: Place Voltaire, Place de la République, Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle, Salle des Pas Perdus, Espace Van-Gogh, as well as the Verrerie sector in Trinquetaille. The deliberately eclectic program features choirs, children's music workshops, jazz, 60s-70s rock, 80s variety, Latin music, and tribute concerts. Amateur practices hold a prominent place, alongside conservatory students and local groups.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Arles will take place on Sunday, June 21, free of charge in the city center. The City of Arles offers an eclectic program, from workshops and choirs during the day to evening concerts, spread across several squares and small squares.
