The Fête de la Musique in Figeac

As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Figeac into an open-air stage every June 21. In this medieval city of Lot, music freely takes over the squares and monuments of the historic center, from morning until evening.

A day paced by the music school

The Figeac edition is organized by the École intercommunale de musique et de théâtre, whose students and ensembles animate several highlights spread throughout the city. Choirs, vocal workshops, instrument ensembles, orchestras, guitar ensembles, and brass bands follow one another throughout the day, before percussion groups take over the streets in a parade. The main courtyard of the town hall and the market hall, two emblematic places of the old center, host the main concerts.
