Free concerts throughout the city on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, La Garde celebrates the Fête de la Musique: the city tunes in with stages set up on rue Raspail, place de la République, in Elluin Park and in several locations in the city center and the Vieille Garde. Amateur musicians, music school students, and local bands play for free from early afternoon until the middle of the night, in all styles, from rock to gypsy jazz, from electro-pop to contemporary music.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of La Garde into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from the city center streets to the Vieille Garde, from mid-afternoon until late into the night. All genres coexist: rock, metal, gypsy jazz, chanson, contemporary music, electro-pop, Provençal balèti, and choirs.
The La Garde edition relies on a mosaic of stages distributed throughout the city center and neighborhoods: rue Raspail, place de la République transformed into a giant dancefloor, the Mas de Sainte Marguerite for acoustic atmospheres, Elluin Park dedicated to contemporary music, place Mussou and Studio Le Rocher for open stages, Coyote Coffee for rock and metal, not forgetting the Fougau de la Vieille Garde and its Provençal traditions.
The festivities begin the day before, on June 20, at place de la République, and continue on June 21 with concerts running from the afternoon until the middle of the night.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in La Garde will take place on Sunday, June 21st, free of charge throughout the city. Several stages will enliven the city center and the Vieille Garde, from rock to electro-pop, from gypsy jazz to Provençal balèti, with an opening night on Saturday, June 20th, at Place de la République.
