About Music Festival in Nancy
Every June 21, Nancy celebrates the Fête de la Musique: amateur musicians, conservatory students, and established artists play for free in the streets, squares, and courtyards of Vieux Nancy. From Place Stanislas to Place Charles III, the ducal city comes alive to the sound of instruments and voices of hundreds of artists, from early evening until the heart of the night.
The Fête de la Musique in Nancy
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Nancy into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces, from mid-afternoon until late at night, in all genres and for all audiences.
A festival throughout the city center
Usually, the festival unfolds in the city's emblematic locations: Place Stanislas, Place Charles III, and the city center streets, complemented by the picturesque alleys of Vieux Nancy and inner courtyards. Open-air stages host concerts and entertainment, while amateur musicians perform spontaneously throughout the ducal city.
