About Music Festival in Niort
Every June 21, Niort celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): the city center, from La Brèche to the Port district, transforms into a large open-air stage. Organized by the City of Niort, the evening is entirely free and brings together amateur and professional musicians of all styles, from rock to soul, including classical, electro, and rap.
The Fête de la Musique in Niort
Since its national creation in 1982, the Fête de la Musique has become one of Niort's major popular summer events. For its 44th edition, on June 21, 2026, music freely takes over public spaces: amateurs and professionals play in squares, streets, and in front of bars, from early evening until the heart of the night.
A festival throughout the city center
On the evening of June 21, the Niort city center is given over to musicians and strollers: between the esplanade de La Brèche and the Port district, passing through shopping streets and terraces, around thirty locations host concerts, several of which are equipped with real stages. Approximately 250 musicians and dancers perform in front of nearly 10,000 spectators, in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The program highlights diversity: rock, pop, electro, classical, country, rap, soul… everyone finds their style. Solo artists, bands, choirs, and groups from all backgrounds take turns from one district to another throughout the evening.

The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Niort takes place on Sunday, June 21st, from 6 PM to midnight, free of charge throughout the city center. For this 44th edition, about thirty locations host approximately 250 musicians and dancers, from the Esplanade de La Brèche to the Port district.

For this 44th edition, the City of Niort extends the festival to about thirty locations in the city center, several of which are equipped with real stages. Overview of the lively areas:
Esplanade de La Brèche
Starting point of the celebration, the esplanade and its surroundings host several stages and the largest audience of the evening.
City center streets and squares
From shopping streets to bar terraces, numerous solo artists or groups perform from one point to another in the center, in all styles: rock, pop, electro, classical, country, rap, and soul.
Port district
At the other end of the route, the Port district extends the celebration into the evening with its own stages and entertainment.
Details of the stages and artists by location (full evening plan) will be released by the City of Niort closer to the event.

Traffic: From 6 PM, the city center perimeter is closed to traffic for public safety. Prioritize walking and soft mobility.
