For the Fête de la Musique, Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (Essonne) transforms avenue Gabriel Péri into a large open-air stage. On Saturday, June 20, 2026, the avenue is pedestrianized and about twenty groups are spread throughout the shopping street, before a popular ball with a guinguette atmosphere at parc Pablo Neruda. An entirely free evening, organized by the Association des Commerçants et Artisans in partnership with the City.
The Fête de la Musique in Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois
Every year, following the national event born in 1982, Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois celebrates the Fête de la Musique outdoors. For one evening, avenue Gabriel Péri is freed from cars and covered with stages: amateur musicians and local groups play for free for strollers, while the avenue's shops remain open to extend the atmosphere.
A pedestrian avenue with music, then a ball in the park
The heart of the celebration beats on avenue Gabriel Péri, entirely pedestrianized for the occasion: about twenty groups are spread from end to end, in various styles, to discover as you wander. At the end of the evening, the party continues at parc Pablo Neruda with a popular ball with a guinguette atmosphere and food trucks set up on site, to dance until the heart of the night.
