The Fête de la Musique in Thionville
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the center of Thionville into a large open stage every June 21. From mid-afternoon until late in the evening, music freely takes over squares and streets, driven by a strong desire to reconnect with the event's original spirit by giving full scope to amateur groups and local Thionville artists.
A festival spread throughout the city center
The 2026 edition features about thirty concerts on several stages spread across the heart of Thionville: Place au Bois and Place du Luxembourg host groups in the evening, Place Anne Grommerch highlights young artists, Place Claude Arnoult offers shows for young audiences during the day then rock concerts in the evening, while the Château courtyard brings together Conservatoire ensembles. Genres coexist without hierarchy: rock, pop, metal, blues, funk, French chanson, electro, and classical music.
Many local groups who rehearse at LED or Maison Queneau are mobilized for this eclectic and accessible program for all.
