About Music Festival in Toulon
Every June 21, Toulon celebrates the Fête de la Musique (Music Festival): streets, squares, and public spaces transform into open-air stages, from the Mourillon district to the city centre, passing through the port. Organised by the City of Toulon, the day is entirely free and brings together all styles, from classical to rock, jazz to electro, chanson to world music.
The Fête de la Musique in Toulon
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms the city of Toulon into an open-air stage every June 21. The largest free musical event in Var, it brings together amateur and professional artists, associations, groups, and institutions, who take over public spaces from the afternoon until the heart of the night.
A festival from Mourillon to the city centre
Usually, the festival unfolds across dozens of open-air stages distributed between the city centre, the port, and the seaside district of Mourillon. The city centre attracts the largest flow of public, while Mourillon extends the evening in a maritime atmosphere. The programming is deliberately eclectic: classical, rock, jazz, electro, chanson, and world music repertoires, complemented by family entertainment and street performances.
